Why people trust the Bridge of Lights

Memorial pages

Remembered together

A memorial page is one place where family and friends gather to light candles for someone they love. Here are a few, shared with their family’s blessing.

How it works

Two ways to remember them

A candle

01
Choose a space
Every glowing light on the bridge belongs to someone.
02
Share their story
Their name, their years, a few words from your heart.
03
Receive their number
We email you a unique candle number. Use it any time to find their light on the bridge.
04
A permanent light
Their candle joins the bridge permanently.

A memorial page

01
Create their page
Their name, their years, a colour that is theirs and a few words about who they were.
02
Light their first candle
Included in the price, with every extra: a coloured flame, their song and a certificate.
03
Invite everyone
Share one link, or print QR code cards for the order of service.
04
Watch it fill with light
Family and friends light their own candles, on the page and on the bridge, and the songs they choose gather in one list.
Find a Candle
Light a candle for someone you've lost - it stays lit permanently, from just £1.

The bridge holds one million spaces. When they are all lit it closes to new candles, and the ones already there stay exactly where they are. There is no rush: there will be a space whenever you are ready, whether that is tonight or in a year.

Why the Bridge?

A bridge connects two places. This one connects the living with the people they've lost. It exists in the space between remembering and letting go - a place to pause, to feel, to say the things you never got to say.

Every light here belongs to someone real. Someone who was held and loved. The bridge doesn't try to erase grief or hurry it along. It simply gives it a place to rest.

When you light a candle here, you're doing something simple but powerful: you're saying they mattered. They still do.

Why we built this

I created Bridge of Lights after losing family and friends close to me. It's a space where we can all celebrate and remember the people who've meant so much to us - sharing their stories, their impact, the way they shaped our lives. Ten pence from every pound goes to UK bereavement charities. Wherever you are, there's a place here for the people you've loved and lost.

Built by Jack Harrison, Plymouth, UK.

Read more about the bridge and who runs it, stories from people who have lost someone, or the questions people ask before lighting a candle.

We're raising £100,000 for UK bereavement charities
